Buildersmith - Kitchen

Originally the kitchen cabinetry stopped at the location of the oven location shown in the photo; the new plan extended upper and base cabinetry and pantries into what was once a breakfast nook. The Bertch cabinetry has solid birch raised panel doors in a warm chestnut stain that's enhanced with a dark brown glaze. The cabinets have staggered heights and depths to add interest and function. All of the standard-depth base cabinets have roll-out shelves, and there are space saving features such as a corner lazy Susan in both base and upper cabinets, roll-out trash and recycling containers, a tray base, and a pull-out spice rack. The upper cabinets above the sink are accessible from both the kitchen and the dining room, which adds to the efficiency.

	The warmth of wood continues in the form of a custom birch hood above the cooktop. The exterior venting is controlled by a three-speed fan, and the hood conceals downlighting with two light levels.
