The existing cabinet casework was in good shape, but the door and drawer fronts were dated. The contemporary European style was changed in to an old European look by the addition of new crown molding, finished end panels on the exposed cabinet ends and on the back of the penisula run. A few additional moldings were added for a light valance, toekick trim, and the appliance garage. The new exterior color is a cream with a glaze of mocha in the crevices and drybrushing on the edges. A new 3 cm granite countertop in Giallo Nathalia D'Oro has a beveled edge detail with radius corners for safety and a softer look.
